MARSHFIELD — Sierra Litwaitis threw a complete-game five-hitter and added three hits and two RBIs at the plate to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team to a 5-1 win over Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

After allowing a run in the top of the first, Litwaitis threw six-straight scoreless innings, striking out five and walking four for the Dons.

Columbus responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and then added single tallies in the second, third, and fifth innings to pull away.

Columbus Catholic (7-11) moves on to a regional semifinal Wednesday at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption (17-0). The game will start at 2 p.m. at Robinson Park.

Maren Seefluth had two doubles and scored three times, and Brooke Neider and Maddie DeSmet each added a pair of hits for the Dons.
