Lucas Heidmann tosses three-hitter for Tigers

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

STRATFORD — Lucas Heidmann threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout to help the Stratford baseball team to a 5-0 victory over Athens in a nonconference tilt Monday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

Stratford scored twice in the first inning and added three more in the third to provide Heidmann with more than enough support.

Heidmann struck out three and walked just one to earn the victory.

Dakota Singer and Devyn Palmer each had two hits and an RBI, and Dylan Schoenherr drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers (14-4).

Stratford finishes its regular-season schedule Thursday with a nonconference game at Pittsville. The Tigers will host a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal May 30 against the winner of Thursday’s game between Colby and Spencer.
