MARSHFIELD — The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County Office of Continuing Education has released its Summer 2017 Catalog and is now accepting registrations for all summer programs.

Continuing Education offers people of all ages the opportunity to learn a new skill, explore a new hobby, advance their careers, and take a trip in a convenient and affordable way. The catalog contains a wide selection of courses, youth camps, and a trip.

Youth programming includes Summer Theatre Camp, performing Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.”; several gymnastics classes and camps; UW soccer camps July 10-14; College for Kids on June 26-29; Art Camp, running July 24-27; and UW’s first Girl Power Camp on Aug. 7-10.

The goal of Girl Power Camp is to empower girls to try new things, explore potential career paths, partake in team building exercises, make friends, and have fun. Each day includes an inspirational guest speaker, themed project, and hands-on activities.

This summer’s featured adult courses include Upcycling, in which participants will repurpose a desk drawer as a mail holder or hanging shelf. Other adult offerings include Outdoor Photography Practice, Canvas and Corks, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, and more.

The featured summer day trip will be a visit to the new zoo and the Packer Hall of Fame in Green Bay on Aug. 8.

For more information on these and other Continuing Education courses, check out the Summer 2017 Catalog. Catalogs will be available at the Office of Continuing Education and various locations around the community, including the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library, the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and grocery stores. Go to marshfield.uwc.edu/ce to view the catalog online and register for offerings.
