SPENCER — The Spencer softball team clinched at least a tie for its third-straight Cloverbelt Conference East Division title with an 11-0 win over Loyal on Thursday at Spencer High School.

Spencer is now 13-4 overall and 12-0 in the Cloverbelt East with two games remaining: Friday at home against Colby and May 18 at Marshfield Columbus Catholic. Loyal drops to 5-6 and 5-4 in conference play.

The Rockets, winners of 13 straight games after starting the year 0-4, scored twice in the first inning, made it 6-0 with a three-run fourth, and finished off the game with a five-run sixth inning.

Tiffany Meinders tossed a six-hit, six-inning shutout, striking out three, and she also went 3-for-3 with an RBI at the plate for the Rockets.

Jenna Schober was the big bat for Spencer, going 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and six RBIs.
