Marshfield girls track wins team title at Merrill Invitational

Tigers first in five events

MERRILL — The Marshfield girls track team won five events and had 19 top-five finishes to take the team title at the 2017 Otto Bacher Invitational on Friday at Merrill High School.

Marshfield racked up 145 points with Wausau East coming in second with 106.5 points. Lakeland won the boys team title. Marshfield did not participate in the boys meet.

Stephanie Rhodes won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet 2 inches; Meg Bryan won both the triple jump with a jump of 34-3½ and the 200 meters in 27.01 seconds; Alexa Aumann won the 400 in 2:27.36; and the 800-meter relay team of Gracie Holland, Bryan, Kaydee Johnson, and Maddie Nikolai won in 1:49.60 for Marshfield’s five victories.

The Tigers’ 1,600 relay team of Aumann, Madysen Bohman, Mariah Goeppinger, and Johnson finished second in 4:20.46.
