GILMAN — After a scoreless first inning, Spencer got its bats going and scored at least one run in every inning from there in a 14-1 rout of Gilman in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Thursday.

Jenna Schober went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, and Cinnamin Harwood and Lexi Baehr each scored three times for the Rockets. Gilman pitchers combined for 17 walks in the six-inning game.

Spencer has now won eight games in row, improving its record to 8-4 overall and 6-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman falls to 5-4 and 1-3 in conference play.

“Right now we (are) seeing the ball well,” Spencer coach Jason Gorst said. “Jenna Schober had a nice game at the plate.”

Tiffany Meinders was the winning pitcher for Spencer, allowing three hits and one unearned run in five innings.

Spencer hosts Greenwood at 5 p.m. Friday.
