MARSHFIELD — Marshfield scored four times in the first inning, and that proved to more than enough as the Tigers blanked Wisconsin Rapids 5-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Thursday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

Melissa Roberts had two RBIs, and Madelyn Mews and Emily Draeger also knocked in runs for the Tigers, who improve to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the WVC. Rapids drops to 6-8 and 3-6 in conference play.

Megan Donahue threw a complete-game two-hitter, striking out 14 as she dominated Wisconsin Rapids’ batters. She also added a double and scored a run for the Tigers.

Jenna Jakobi scored two runs for Marshfield.

Marshfield plays a nonconference game at Medford on Monday.
