Monday, April 24

Gas drive-off reported at Fourth Street station

The manager of a gas station on the 2400 block of E. Fourth St. reported a gas drive-off that occurred there at 3:30 p.m. on April 23. A man pumped $10 worth of gas and bought a few drinks inside the convenience store but left without paying for the fuel.

Images of the suspect and his vehicle were captured. The suspect’s local police department was contacted and asked to speak to the individual if possible or to leave a note at his residence if not. Further investigation is needed.

Marshfield woman cited for OWI, resisting, disorderly conduct

Police responded at 10:19 p.m. to a report of a disturbance involving an intoxicated 36-year-old Marshfield woman on the 1200 block of N. Peach Ave. The woman admitted she had driven before arriving at the residence and was drinking prior to driving.

The woman appeared heavily intoxicated, had difficulty walking and balancing, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of intoxicants coming from her. She performed standardized field sobriety tests poorly and was arrested for operating while under the influence (OWI), first offense.

While being transported to the Saint Joseph’s Hospital emergency room, the woman dragged her feet, refused to walk, and kicked at officers. She used vulgar and obscene language toward officers and hospital staff, yelled and swore while reading the informing the accused form, and refused to answer if she would submit to a blood draw. The woman then refused to sit in a squad car and had to be lifted and held into the vehicle.

She was cited for OWI, resisting an officer, and disorderly conduct before being released to a sober adult.

Tuesday, April 25

Woman with Virginia warrant taken into custody

Police took a 38-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 3400 block of Frey Court for a valid felony warrant out of Virginia. She was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, where she was booked, and then transported to Wood County Jail.

Thursday, April 27

Rib Lake man reports identity theft

A Rib Lake came to Marshfield and wished to report an identity theft at 4:32 p.m. The man stated he had received a phone call from a collection agency, who said he had an $800 loan through CashNet from 2014 that was past due.

The man said he did not take out the loan, and he suspected his girlfriend at the time, now ex-girlfriend, had used his information to obtain the loan. Investigation is ongoing.

Disorderly conduct, resisting charges requested for Marshfield man

Police responded at 6:42 p.m. to a report of a 47-year-old Marshfield man causing a disturbance on the 400 block of E. 20th St. The man was yelling at another man and a woman and was attempting to lock them out of a residence.

After police warned the 47-year-old to the get along with the others, he continued his behavior and was arrested. During the arrest, he resisted officers’ attempts to restrain him. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.

Man arrested for probation violation

Police arrested a 38-year-old Marshfield man for a probation violation on the 200 block of W. 14th St. He was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then transported to Wood County Jail.

Friday, April 28

Repeat gas drive-off perpetrator reported

Police received a report at 12:22 p.m. about a gas drive-off at a station on the 600 block of N. Central Ave. A caucasian woman pumped $36.01 worth of gas and left without paying for it.

It was reported the woman had done this numerous times. The suspect vehicle had no license plates and a broken passenger side mirror. Video of the theft was entered into evidence.

Suspect taken into custody for domestic abuse

A Marshfield man called police at 12:23 p.m. to ask questions about how to evict his roommate. While gathering the information, it was learned that the man had been involved with a domestic abuse incident.

Police contacted the suspect, who was taken into custody and later posted the necessary bond. Charges will be filed with the Wood County DA’s office.

Stratford man jailed for bail jumping, drug paraphernalia possession

An officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Stratford man on the 1400 block of N. Central Ave. at 7:33 p.m. The man had a suspended operator’s status and was out on bond due to an open Marathon County court case.

A K-9 sniff was conducted on the vehicle, which indicated positive for the odor of a controlled substance. Police searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and suspected LSD.

The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then taken to Wood County Jail. The suspected LSD was sent to the crime lab for further analysis.

Man arrested for OAR

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had a registered owner with a revoked driver’s license. The owner was driving the vehicle, and police arrested him for operating after revocation due to OWI. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then released.

Saturday, April 29

Two arrested for valid warrants, two for probation holds

At 11:07 a.m. police arrested a 33-year-old Marshfield man for a valid Marshfield warrant on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail.

At 1:20 p.m. police arrested a 19-year-old Marshfield woman for a valid Marshfield warrant on the 500 block of S. Peach Ave. She was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking, was unable to post bond, and was taken to Wood County Jail.

Police took a 28-year-old Marshfield man into custody at 3:24 p.m. for having a revoked driver’s license due to an OWI. The man was on probation, and hold was placed on him by Probation and Parole. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail.

At 5:56 p.m. police took a 30-year-old Marshfield man into custody for a probation hold on the 400 block of E. Fourth St. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then brought to Wood County Jail.

Sunday, April 30

Man taken into custody for marijuana possession

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 300 block of S. Central Ave. at 12:40 a.m. for traveling the wrong way in an alleyway. The odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle, and a search was conducted.

A male passenger was found to be in possession of marijuana and was taken into custody, booked, and then released. Charges were requested through the Wood County DA’s office.

Dog bites child

A Marshfield man reported that a dog he was watching bit his niece, causing injuries. An ambulance responded to the scene and took the child to Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

The dog’s rabies vaccination was up to date. The incident was forwarded to the Ordinance Department for further investigation.

Marshfield man taken into custody for operating without a valid driver’s license

During a traffic stop on the 700 block of S. Central Ave. at 10:04 p.m., police took a 25-year-old Marshfield man into custody for operating without a valid driver’s license. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, cited, and released.

Twenty-year-old arrested for underage drinking

Police arrested a 20-year-old man at a bar on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. for underage drinking. Probation and Parole placed a hold on the man. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail.

Man turns himself in for warrant

A 27-year-old Marshfield man came into the Marshfield Police Department at 4:13 p.m. to turn himself in on a valid Department of Corrections warrant. He was booked and then transported to Wood County Jail.
