David J. Hanson, 70, Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

A celebration of Davey’s life will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Wildwood Park Pavilion, 1800 South Roddis Av., Marshfield. Family committal services and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Davey was born on February 27, 1947 to Arthur and Vilas (Hass) Hanson of Spencer, WI. He married the love of his life, Marlene A. Blanchard on March 8, 1980, making their home in Spencer and later moving to Marshfield. He was a lifelong employee of Liberty Homes in Dorchester.

Davey enjoyed life to the fullest, but some of his favorite pastimes were bus rides with friends to the casino, riding his mo-ped through the park to feed the ducks, his weekly card games, feeding the birds on his patio and spending time with dear friends. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor and smile and the wood-working projects he did for his family.

His care and compassion for his twin sister Diane and his mother-in-law, Marie stand as a testament to his loving nature.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, brothers, Donnie (Karin) Hanson and DuWayne (Arlene) Hanson, all of Florida, and Dean (Paula) Hanson of Spencer, his mother-in-law, Marie Blanchard, and sisters-in-law, Germaine Blanchard and Janice Moen, brothers-in-law, Bob (Mary) Fischer and Jeff Moen and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter at birth, his twin sister, Diane, a sister, Delores Caldwell, his father-in-law, Robert Blanchard, brothers-in-law, Chuck Caldwell, Ed, Frederick, Christopher and Brian Blanchard, 2 nieces and a nephew.
