MARSHFIELD — As part of Wisconsin’s YPWeek, the Marshfield Young Professionals (MYP) hosted an ’80s Cardio Crawl on April 23.
MYP board president Jes Mannigel said approximately 30 participants took part in the event, in which individuals were encouraged to dress in attire from the 1980s.
“The participants were separated into three groups to allow for adequate space at each location,” said Mannigel. “All groups started their crawl at the Fitness Belle for their first workout. Next, each group rotated to the other three locations: Total Body Fitness, Off the Mat Yoga, and Limitless Bootcamp. Limitless was also added only a couple days before the crawl. It was fun throwing in a surprise location. The workouts were a mix of boot camp style, HIIT (high-intensity interval training), and cross fit.
“This event was designed to promote healthy and active lifestyles, showcase local assets, and connect people to people and with our community. It’s an opportunity for people to try something new, discover local businesses, and break down the myth that there is nothing to do in Marshfield.
“This event was part of our programming for YPWeek, a statewide initiative to promote Wisconsin as a great place to live, work, and play by letting everyone know what our individual communities have to offer. Millennials in 25 different communities build hundreds of events and projects that inspire their peers to think differently and make things happen in Wisconsin.”
