Step back in time: April 23-29 in Hub City history

Ten years ago
Two members of Marshfield High School’s Future Farmers of America chapter received scholarships to attend the FFA Washington Leadership Conference held in Washington, D. C. Amber Peterson and Katie Okonek both received an all-expense paid trip to attend a weeklong leadership workshop in the summer.
Twenty-five years ago
A National Honor Count Series in bowling of a series of 719 was achieved this week by Wayne Jakobi. He shot games of 252, 212, and 255 to reach his high series in the Thursday American League at Rose Bowl Lanes.
Fifty years ago
Roberta Lifto, Miss Marshfield 1966, crowned Lanie Jane Hanrath as the new Miss Marshfield 1967 in the Columbus Catholic High School auditorium on April 23. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hanrath of Marshfield, Lanie Jane was a student at Marshfield Senior High School.
Seventy-five years ago
Seven Marshfield area men participated in a livestock judging contest. Those seven included Everett Olsen, Felix Pankratz, Harold Kautzer, Norbert Kohler, Ralph Dennee, Wallace Ekvall, and Willard Ekvall.
