Taqueria El Sol’s Cinco de Mayo to feature national mariachi talent

MARSHFIELD — On May 5 Mexico commemorates its army victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, and in Marshfield, Taqueria El Sol — located at 1705 S. Central Ave. — will be celebrating this Cinco de Mayo with festive music and authentic Mexican food and beverages, catering to all ethnicities and age groups starting at 10 a.m.
Taqueria El Sol’s celebrations will include a performance by mariachi and ranchera singer Clementina, who was born in the cradle of mariachi music: Guadalajara, Mexico, and now lives and performs in southern California. Also featured on this special holiday will be Mexican DJ Jose Ortiz/Sonido Kambary, who will spin mariachi music from 5-7 p.m., and Experiment One will play Latin hits by Celia Cruz, La India, Shakira, Mana, Maluma, Fonseca, and a tribute to Jenny Rivera between 8-10 p.m.
El Primerito Radio en Español is presenting and promoting this once-a-year party in association with XYZ Entertainment with a live broadcast at the restaurant in association with local sponsors, including, but not limited to, The Baltus Company, Valley Communities Credit Union, Eddie Bousum and State Farm Insurance, Circle the Date, Dragt Chiropractic, Blues Hair Studio, MC Plastering, Holiday Inn and Conference Center, and Jerry’s Music.
