Spencer baseball crushes Colby

Rockets improve to 4-1 in Cloverbelt East

SPENCER — Spencer scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to finish off a 12-2 win over Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Friday at Spencer High School.
Hunter Luepke earned the win for the Rockets, giving up two unearned runs and four hits in a five-inning, complete-game effort. He struck out five and walked four.
Caden Schillinger had three hits, three stolen bases, and four RBIs to lead Spencer’s offensive attack.
Carson Hildebrandt added two RBIs, and Darren Willcome was hit by a pitch three times and scored twice for Spencer (4-2, 4-1 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer plays at Owen-Withee on Tuesday.
