Holland wins long jump, Marshfield finishes third at D.C. Everest Girls Track Invite

Tigers have five runner-up finishes

SCHOFIELD — Marshfield freshman Gracie Holland won the long jump, and the Tigers finished third out of six teams at the 2017 D.C. Everest Girls Track & Field Invitational on Friday at Stiehm Stadium.

Eau Claire Memorial edged host D.C. Everest 143-139 for the team title. Marshfield was third with 101 points.

Holland won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet 5 inches for the Tigers.

Marshfield also had four individuals and one relay finish second. Holland in the 100 meters (13.29 seconds), Stephanie Rhodes in the high jump (4-10), Kaydee Johnson in the triple jump (31-11¾), and Alexa Aumann in the 800 (2:27.95) were all runners-up, as was the Tigers’ 1,600 relay team of Aumann, Mariah Goeppinger, Johnson, and Maddie Nikolai, which took second in 4:21.53.

Marshfield will compete at the Wood County Invitational at Auburndale High School on Monday.
