Lawrence Sylvester Van de Loo, 94, Marshfield, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his daughter’s home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 29 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday, April 28 from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 am until service at St. John’s Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home.

Lawrence was born on May 30, 1922 on his farm near Rozellville, the son of Anton and Anna (Rammer) Van de Loo. He attended St. Andrew’s Parochial School in Rozellville. He was united in marriage to Marian Kirsch on May 13, 1950 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford.

Lawrence was a devoted husband and father. He farmed the family farm for many years until he moved to Marshfield. He was a member of St. John’s Parish and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, spending time with his wife, and his  children and grandchildren.

Lawrence is survived by his children, Dale (Jewell) Van de Loo of Rosemount, MN, Dave (Susan) Van de Loo of Eau Claire, Tom (Cathy) Van de Loo of Hewitt, Kathie Van de Loo of Bruce, Robert (Chris) Van de Loo of Marshfield, Mary (Paul) Schneck of Weston, and Lori Gleaves of Hermitage, TN. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Gertrude Kraus, Mary Sophie Van de Loo, Florence Drexler, Rose Wenzel, Alois Van de Loo, Hilda Spindler, and Vincent Van de Loo.

Memorials may be designated in his name to St. John’s Parish.
