Ten-run first propels Auburndale softball past Pittsville
Apaches have 19 hits in Marawood South win

PITTSVILLE — Auburndale scored 10 times in the top of the first inning and cruised past Pittsville 20-10 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Friday at Pittsville High School.
The Apaches (3-2, 1-1 Marawood South) added six more in the third inning and led 20-1. Then Pittsville scored nine runs in the final two innings before the game ended via the 10-run rule.
Brooke Anderson, Mackenzie Raab, and Jenna Ertl each had three hits, and Anderson and Ertl each had three RBIs for the Apaches. Hannah Bolder added a home run and four RBIs in the win.
Rachael Bolder earned the win, striking out three in four innings.
Auburndale plays at Iola-Scandinavia on Saturday.
