Tysver wins pole vault, Tigers’ 3,200 relay takes first

WAUSAU — The Marshfield boys track team competed in its first outdoor meet of the season on Tuesday, taking second out of four teams at the Wausau West Outdoor Opener.

Marshfield won a pair of events and had eight second-place finishes at the meet, which was won by Wausau West. West also won the girls team title. The Marshfield girls did not participate.

Winning events for the Tigers were Dawson Tysver in the pole vault (12 feet) and the 3,200-meter relay team of Jacob Dick, Jordan Dzikowich, Paul Fischer, and Addison Hill (9:01.43).

Quinton Alexander was second in the discus (129-5) and the shot put (45-4), and Skyler Theisen finished second in the 110 hurdles (16.74) and 300 hurdles (40.83) for the Tigers.

Also placing second for Marshfield were Dick in the 3,200 (11:26.84), Hill in the 800 (2:11.31), Adam Maki in the pole vault (10-6), and the 400 relay team of Alexander, Dylan Krug, Alex Steines, and Jon Wittman (50.31).

The Marshfield girls will compete at the D.C. Everest Invitational on Friday, and both the boys and the girls will take part in the Wood County Track Meet at Auburndale High School on Monday.
