Columbus Catholic softball routs Pittsville for first win

Dons score multiple runs in all five innings

PITTSVILLE — Marshfield Columbus Catholic scored multiple runs in each of its five at-bats and blasted Pittsville 28-8 in a nonconference softball game Monday at Pittsville High School.
The Dons took advantage 11 walks and seven errors by Pittsville to win going away and improve to 1-1 this season. Pittsville is now 0-4.
Sierra Litwaitis earned the win for Columbus, allowing two earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. She also added a single, a triple, and two RBIs at the plate.
Bailey Neider had two hits and three RBIs; Annie Baierl had a double and five RBIs; and Annika Brown, Maddie DeSmet, and Addison Baierl each had two hits and two RBIs for Columbus.
Columbus returns to action Friday at Greenwood.
