Owen-Withee outlasts Columbus Catholic baseball
Dons drop second-straight contest

OWEN — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team dropped its second-consecutive game, falling to Owen-Withee 14-9 in Cloverbelt Conference East Division play Friday.
Columbus (0-2, 0-1 Cloverbelt East) scored six times in the top of the second inning to take a 6-1 lead but could not hold off Owen-Withee’s bats as the Blackhawks plated 13 runs from the second through fourth innings.
Charles Payant suffered the loss for the Dons, allowing 10 runs — only three earned — in three innings. He struck out six.
Noah Taylor was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Columbus.
Kole Karaba drove in seven runs for Owen-Withee (1-1 overall and Cloverbelt East).
The Dons host Colby in their home opener Tuesday.
