Auburndale softball holds off Colby to grab first win
Ponshock has two hits, Soppe strikes out seven for Apaches

AUBURNDALE — The Auburndale softball team withheld a late rally from Colby to win its home opener 7-6 on Thursday at Auburndale High School.
The Apaches scored three times in the second inning, added two more in the fifth, and one in the sixth to build a 7-1 lead.
Colby scored five times in the top of the seventh before Rachael Bolder was able to get the final out.
Alexis Soppe earned the win for the Apaches, allowing one run and two hits in five innings.
Marissa Ponshock had two of Auburndale’s five hits. Teryn Lau, Hannah Bolder, and Brooke Anderson each had two RBIs in the win.
Auburndale (1-1) hosts Edgar on Monday.
