Step back in time: April 2-8 in Hub City history

Ten years ago
A special quilt honoring those who had donated human tissue and their families was on display April 3 at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. The hospital sponsored the exhibit as part of National Donate Life Month.
Twenty-five years ago
Dale Anderson and Jim Edwards sought a seat in the Marshfield Common Council’s 7th Ward. Mike Meyers was vacating that seat on the council to be replaced by either Anderson or Edwards.
Fifty years ago
Marshfield Senior High School band members made their school proud as several of them received Class A first ratings in the Wisconsin Valley Music Conference Solo and Ensemble Festival held in Merrill. The winning band members were Allan Ohm, Cindy Aigner, Ginny Heersma, Helene Nelson, Jan Mitchell, Joel Weichelt, John Pezl, Marlene Wellhoefer, Shirley Conrad, Sue Baumgartner, Shirley Larson, and Winnie Snelling.
Seventy-five years ago
Marshfield mayoral candidates had spent a total of $87.50 in their campaigns through March. Lisle F. Allen reported the largest expenditure of $9.50 as he ran for the seat of supervisor of the 5th Ward. Mayor George J. Leonhard was a close second with a $9 expense account as he sought re-election.
