MADISON — Laura Meinders, Edgewood College junior theatre arts major from Marshfield, was honored in January with an award from the 2017 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival held in Indianapolis.
Meinders won the Society of Properties Artisan Managers Award for her work in specialty props produced for “Clue: The Musical,” which was presented during the spring 2016 semester.
This is the third consecutive year a student from Edgewood College has been honored at the festival. Last year Mark Kennedy garnered three awards for his work on “Woods of Weaver,” and in 2015 Stacey Garbarski and her scene partner Leigha Sander won the Irene Ryan Dramatist Guild Award for Excellence in a Performance from a New Play or Musical.
Assistant Professor Christopher Dunham worked closely with Meinders on the creation of her award-winning work, and Adjunct Instructor Audrey Wax served as the festival group organizer, acting coach, and presentation coach.
