Lois Marguerite Leigh

Lois Marguerite Leigh, 91, died April 1, 2017. A private committal service will be held at Mound Cemetery in Pittsville. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lois was born on September 25, 1925 to Otto and Hilda (Siebenhaar) Dawes. She attended Pittsville Public Schools and was a 1943 graduate of Pittsville High School. She married James Walter Leigh, her high school sweetheart, on June 28, 1944 at the United Church of Christ.
After her marriage, she and her husband farmed in the Town of Wood for 37 years. Lois was instrumental with the rearing of their four children; providing nourishment, clothing, and discipline for their development. She enjoyed gardening and the preservation of her garden produce, preparing home cooked meals and the caring of her chickens and cattle.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and its Mayflower Circle. She was a former 4-H leader and a clarinetist for the Yellow River Hornets band.
Lois is survived by her children; two daughters, Bonnie Wolff (Robert) of Pittsville and their children, Rob, Todd and Kim; Peggy Webb (Dudley) of England, Arkansas and their children, Amanda and Dudley; two sons, James Leigh Jr. (Patty) of Pittsville and their children, Cory and Missy; and Robert Leigh (Deanna) of Sobieski, WI and their children, Jacob and Nathan. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents and a foster brother.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date, Family, friends and the wonderful people in our Pittsville community who shared their lives with her are invited to attend.
