Bredemann has five hits in twinbill

POYNETTE — The Stratford softball team split a pair of games at Poynette on Saturday, losing to the host Pumas 7-1 and beating Monona Grove 4-2.

Kiana Weiler started both games on the mound for the Tigers, who are now 2-1 on the young season.

She struck out one in five innings against Poynette, suffering the loss. Courtney Kaiser was 3-for-3 with the lone RBI, and Brittany Bredemann was 2-for-4 for Stratford.

In the victory over Monona Grove, Weiler threw a complete game, striking out seven. She did not walk a batter in either game.

Bredemann, Sammy Griesbach, Weiler, Cassidy Vanderleest, and Shalynn Griesmer all went 2-for-4 for the Tigers in the victory as Stratford pounded out 13 hits.

Stratford plays at Tomahawk on Monday.
