Ten years ago

The 2007 United States Championship Cheese Contest was recently held, and Nasonville Dairy Inc., Marshfield, received the Gold Medal Best of Class award for marbled curd cheese.

Twenty-five years ago

Robert De Vita was selected by the Marshfield Clinic’s board of directors to succeed Frederick Wenzel as the executive director of the Clinic.

Wenzel had headed Marshfield Clinic since 1976. He was chosen as president of the American College of Medical Group Administrations and would assume those national duties in October.

Fifty years ago

Taking first place at the annual Ojibwa District first aid contest at the Marshfield Armory on Saturday was the Vampire Patrol from Boy Scout Troop 681 of the First Presbyterian Church. Vampire Patrol members were Gary Wendell, John Fredricks, Scott LeRoux, Kim LeMoine, and the patrol leader Alex Anderson.

Seventy-five years ago

Jay Joseph recently achieved an A rating and a first place in the Stevens Point District Forensics Contest held in Wisconsin Rapids. The senior at Marshfield High School would represent his school April 10-11 in the State Forensics Contest held in Madison.
