Marshfield wins home boys track and field invitational

Stratford takes fifth, Auburndale eighth

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield won four individual events and a pair of relays to claim the team title at the 2017 Marshfield Boys Indoor Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers totaled 136.5 points, outpacing second-place Marathon, which finished with 83 points. Stratford was fifth with 56, Marshfield Orange had 47 to take sixth, Auburndale was eighth with 18, and Marshfield White was 12th with nine points.

Adam Elhendy-Gunnarsson won the 60-yard dash in 6.59 seconds, Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann took first in the 440-yard run in 57.83 seconds, Addison Hill won the 880-yard run in 2:18.51, and Quinton Alexander finished first in the shot put with a toss of 48 feet 3½ inches to lead Marshfield.

Marshfield also won the 640 relay (1:14.52) and the 3,200 relay (9:24.66).

Marshfield got second-place finishes from Jon Wittman in the shot put (45-2), Adam Maki in the pole vault (11-0), and Skyler Theisen in the 220 (25.34) and 60 hurdles (8.83). Theisen was also third in the 440 (59.34).

Stratford’s top finishes came from David Marquardt in the 440 (59.20), Jacob Leick in the high jump (6-0), and Cade Lehman in the 880 (2:20.85).

Carver Empey was second in the triple jump (35-5.75) and fifth in the long jump (17-5) for Auburndale.
