MAPN presentation focuses on raising resilient children

For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth and Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach will host a Marshfield Area Parent Network presentation April 10 titled “Raising Resilient Children.”
The event will be from 5-7 p.m. at Marshfield Clinic Froehlke Auditorium, Laird Center for Medical Research, 1000 N. Oak Ave. in Marshfield.
The impact of encouraging positive behavior during adolescence reaches far beyond childhood. Thinking patterns, habits, and behaviors formed in adolescence may persist and affect adult emotional and physical well-being.
Learn about using the seven competencies of positive youth development — competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping, and control — to hold children to high expectations for being compassionate, generous, and creative all while believing in them unconditionally.
To register, call Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach at 715-221-8412 or email [email protected] by April 5. Provide the first and last name of participants and, if requesting child care, the age of children.
This event is supported by Mike’s Run, a run/walk hosted in partnership with Marshfield Clinic to promote mental health awareness.
