Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience coming to Tack Center

For Hub City Times

SPENCER — The LuCille Tack Center for the Arts will present Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience on March 19 at 2 p.m. Yesterday and Today features brothers Billy, Ryan, and Matthew McGuigan with a backing band playing the music of the Beatles.

The brothers do not try to impersonate the Fab Four but rather honor the music and memories that people have attached to the legendary songs. The show started as a tribute to the McGuigan brothers’ late father, who loved The Beatles and introduced his children to the band.

Yesterday and Today is an audience-driven show, so no two concerts are ever the same. Patrons submit requests before the show and at intermission. Along with their song requests, the audience members share memories and reasons why the songs are meaningful to them, which the band imparts with the audience before playing the request.

The Beatles have provided the soundtrack for people’s lives for many decades, so there is never a shortage of great stories. The personal stories and dedications give depth, meaning, humor, and fun to the entire experience.
