Marshfield’s J.C. Penney to close

PLANO, Texas — J. C. Penney Company & Co. recently announced it will be closing 138 of its stores, including the Marshfield Mall location; one supply chain facility in Lakeland, Florida; and relocating one supply chain facility in Buena Park, California.
Approximately 5,000 positions nationwide will be impacted by the store closures, most of which will occur in June. Most affected stores will begin the liquidation process on April 17.
