Jack C. Burk

Jack C. Burk, age 97, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Stoney River Assisted Living facility.
The visitation for Jack will be held on Monday, March 13 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Savarimuthu Selvaraj officiating. The Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly will form a guard of honor at the church. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1866 of Marshfield at the church following the service.
Jack was born March 9, 1920 in Wausau, to Art and Violet (Boldt) Burk. He was united in marriage 73 years ago, to Virginia Fox. Jack served in World War II where he received the Bronze Star for valor. He remained in the Army Reserves until retirement at age 60 and was active in Jaycee’s, the VFW, American Legion, the Eagles Club and was a 4th Degree Knight. He worked for Northern Auto and Distributors Warehouse as a machinist until retirement. He attended Ripon College for 2 years before joining the army.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, 5 children, Jim and Cindy (Lee) Burk, Terry and Glenna (Cloud) Burk, Sue and (Paul) Wilcott, Jon and Deb (Lawrie) Burk, Bonnie and (Tom) Umhoefer, 16 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sister Sally (Tom) Nester, and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Dale and Robert, and his sister-in-law Helen Burk. He also lost two little angels, his great-grandchildren Noah (Valdez) and T.J. Wilcott.
