Monday, Feb. 27
Marshfield man violates probation
Police conducted an Act 79 search at a residence on the 1500 block of S. Adams Ave. While searching, police located suspected THC and drug paraphernalia.
A 36-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for probation violations. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Tuesday, Feb. 28
Man taken into custody for battery
Police responded at 7:59 p.m. to a report that a 26-year-old Marshfield man struck his live-in girlfriend, with whom he has two children in common, in the face while at a residence on the 600 block of W. Laurel Court. The man was taken into custody, posted bond, and was released with a court date. Charges of battery – domestic abuse will be directed to the Wood County DA.
Wednesday, March 1
Nineteen-year-old found possessing nonprescribed medication
At 10:57 a.m. a probation hold was placed on a 19-year-old Marshfield woman after prescription medication for which she did not have a prescription was found at her residence on the 300 block of N. Central Ave.
When police made contact with the woman, she became agitated and extremely loud and began using profanity in the vicinity of several other people in the building. Officers asked her several times to lower her voice and stop swearing, but she refused to comply.
The woman was arrested and transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where she was booked, and later to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Marshfield man with DOC warrant taken into custody
Police took a 34-year-old Marshfield man into custody for a valid Department of Corrections warrant on the 200 block of W. 14th St. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later to Wood County Jail.
Thursday, March 2
Woman sends man 117 unwanted text messages
A Marshfield man reported receiving 117 unwanted text messages between Feb. 28 and March 2 from his former girlfriend who resides in Dane County. A few of the text messages were threatening in nature.
The man had contacted the woman numerous times in attempt to stop the messages but had no success. He has no intention of continuing the relationship and said he was not scared of the threats. He did request a report be generated for future court hearings in Dane County regarding the woman.
Marshfield man arrested following disturbance
Police responded at 8:02 p.m. to a report of a disturbance on the 400 block of W. Cleveland St. As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 59-year-old Marshfield man for obstructing, habitual criminality, bail jumping, and a Clark County warrant.
The man was brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and later turned over to a Clark County deputy. He was also cited in reference to a previous case. A request for charges will be sent to the DA’s office for obstructing, habitual criminality, and bail jumping.
Friday, March 3
Police perform two warrant pickups
Police took a 28-year-old Arpin man into custody for active Department of Corrections and Wood County Sheriff’s Office warrants on the 200 block of W. Upham St. at 9:55 a.m. The man complained of medical issues and was taken to the Saint Joseph’s Hospital emergency room. Upon being medically cleared, he was turned over to a Wood County sheriff’s deputy.
Police took a 19-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 300 block of S. Cedar Ave. for a valid Marshfield warrant. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then taken to Wood County Jail.
Intoxicated man jailed for probation hold
A man was involved in a disturbance on the 300 block of N. Central Ave. He was intoxicated and administered a reading of 0.188 on a preliminary breath test. Probation and Parole was contacted and placed a hold on the man.
He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then taken to Wood County Jail.
Man taken into custody for OAR
Police took a 27-year-old Marshfield man into custody following a traffic stop on the 1400 block of S. Central Ave. for operating after revocation, operating while under the influence-related. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was booked and later released.
Sunday, March 5
Marshfield woman cited for harassment
A Marshfield man reported being harassed by a 29-year-old Marshfield woman. He said they had dated for month, had a child together, and have been broken up for a year. The man indicated that he pays child support but does not see the child and does not want anything to do with the woman. The man had filed complaints on the woman for this same issue twice in 2016.
The woman has been texting the man and posting on his Facebook daily since January 2017. Between 6:06 p.m. on March 4 and 2:21 a.m. on March 5, the man received 42 text messages from the woman, all referencing wanting to have a relationship with him, which he has made clear he does not want.
Police will contact the woman, advise her to have no further contact with the man, and cite her for harassment.
Woman with warrant, revoked driver’s license observed driving
An officer observed a woman drive from her residence to a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. The woman did not have a valid driver’s license and was not allowed to be at the store. She also had a valid Department of Corrections warrant.
The woman was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to jail. She was given a verbal warning for trespassing and a citation for operating while suspended.
