Step back in time: March 5-11 in Hub City history

Ten years ago
Army reservists and doctors Pat Sullivan and Ron Martin were stationed at the combat support hospital in Mosul, Iraq. The two Marshfield Clinic physicians often worked on the same surgical cases.
Twenty-five years ago
The Marshfield Fire and Police Commission recommended that the city sign a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor, and Human Relations to set up a program that monitors the 143 federally regulated underground tanks in the city as the state could reimburse the Marshfield Fire Department for overseeing the tank program.
Fifty years ago
Saturday night the Marshfield Business and Professional Women’s Club presented the spring style show “Artistry in Fashion” at the Marshfield Armory. Welcoming the audience, Elizabeth Brandsness, club president, also introduced Gerald H. Schroeder and John H. Bittrich, the evening’s commentators.
Seventy-five years ago
The Marshfield High School boys basketball squad advanced to the finals of the consolation bracket in the WIAA Regional Tournament held at Wisconsin Rapids. The local boys beat Mosinee 15-12 in overtime after Ray Wenzel tied the game at 11-all in regulation play, and Wenzel led the team by scoring 10 points in the contest.
