Hot-shooting Auburndale boys basketball blasts Nekoosa

Apaches shoot 65 percent in road win

NEKOOSA — The Auburndale boys basketball team raced out to a 25-point lead by halftime on its way to a 63-24 dismantling of Nekoosa in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Nekoosa High School.

Auburndale (12-7) continued its efficient offensive play, shooting 65 percent from the field making 24 of 37 shots from the field. The Apaches also made all 10 of their free throw attempts in the win.

Cale Jacoby had 18 points, making 7 of 8 shots from the floor, and Caleb Weinfurter had 13 points and seven assists for Auburndale.

The Apaches wrap up their Marawood Conference South Division schedule Saturday at home against Stratford. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
