MARSHFIELD — Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) has partnered with the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MACCI) and other local chambers to coordinate a two-day trip to Washington, D.C., where Wisconsin’s chamber and business leaders met with the state’s congressional delegation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“We look forward to productive conversations with our elected officials in Washington,” said WMC President/CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “WMC and our local chambers are hearing first-hand the problems facing the business community, and we hope our state’s congressional delegation will take the lead on promoting a pro-business legislative agenda.”

WMC and numerous representatives from chambers across the state flew to Washington, D.C., Feb. 7-8. The event included a reception, a breakfast briefing with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and meetings on Capitol Hill.

MACCI Executive Director Scott Larson commented, “This is an outstanding opportunity for local chambers and their local business members to have direct contact with the Wisconsin congressional delegation and express their concerns directly to those legislative decision makers.”
