COLBY — Colby held Spencer to 24 percent shooting and cruised to a 67-38 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Colby High School.

The Hornets raced out to a 40-19 lead by halftime and held on from there. Colby (11-9, 9-6 Cloverbelt East) also held a 51-36 rebounding advantage and forced the Rockets (7-14, 5-11 Cloverbelt East) into 20 turnovers.

Spencer was just 12 of 49 from the field and 9 of 27 at the free throw line.

Lexi Baehr scored 22 points and had six rebounds for the Rockets, who were playing their Cloverbelt East season finale.

Spencer will play in a Cloverbelt Conference crossover game against an opponent to be determined on Feb. 16.
