AUBURNDALE — Wausau Newman Catholic outscored Auburndale by 10 in the second half to grab a 33-25 victory in a low-scoring Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Thursday at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale led 13-11 at halftime before the Cardinals pulled away over the final 18 minutes.

The Apaches (9-10, 5-6 Marawood South) were just 10 of 34 from the field in the loss.

Mackenzie Raab and Marissa Ponshock each had six points to lead Auburndale.

Julia Seidel had 12 points, including the game’s only two 3-pointers, for Newman Catholic (15-4, 10-2 Marawood South).

Auburndale finishes its Marawood South season Saturday at home against Stratford. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m.
