Tuesday, Jan. 31
Arkdale woman, Marshfield man taken into custody
Police responded at 7:35 a.m. to a report of a 42-year-old Arkdale woman trespassing at a residence on the 500 block of S. Spruce Ave. The woman and a 43-year-old Marshfield man she was with were out on bond.
The woman had a valid warrant and was taken into custody. Officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence and took the man into custody as well.
Both subjects were transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures, a probation hold was placed on the man, and they were both taken to Wood County Jail.
Men arrested following altercation
Police arrested two Marshfield men, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old, after they had a physical altercation with each other on the 100 block of N. Elm St. at 9:50 a.m. Both were transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where they were booked, and later to Wood County Jail. Charges for disorderly conduct – domestic abuse, battery, and misdemeanor bail jumping will be sought through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Marshfield woman delivers purported heroin
A 26-year-old Marshfield woman delivered purported heroin during an undercover activity on the 400 block of S. Walnut Ave. at 7:15 p.m. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Wednesday, Feb. 1
Unknown suspect steals vacuum cleaner
Loss prevention at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. reported that on Jan. 29 an unknown customer entered the store with a vacuum cleaner, received a refund for the vacuum, and then stole an identical vacuum. The suspect and behavior matched occurrences in Rhinelander, Antigo, Plover, and Wausau.
A Wisconsin Crime Alert message is being sent. Investigation will continue.
Pittsville man with $1,500 warrant jailed
Police took a 28-year-old Pittsville man into custody on the 300 block of S. Peach Ave. for a Wood County warrant with a bond of $1,500. The man was unable to post bond and was transferred to Wood County Jail.
Thursday, Feb. 2
Nineteen-year-old cited for operating without license
Following a traffic stop on the 200 block of E. Ives St., police took a 19-year-old Marshfield man into custody for operating without a valid driver’s license, second offense. He was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, issued a citation, and released.
Man taken into custody for Portage County warrant
Police took a 55-year-old Marshfield man into custody due to a body only Portage County warrant after a traffic stop near the intersection of Arnold Street and Spruce Avenue. The man was booked at the Marshfield Police Department before being turned over to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
Friday, Feb. 3
Wallet reported stolen at Laurel Court residence
A Marshfield man reported that someone had taken his wallet from his residence on the 600 block of Laurel Court some time between 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 12 a.m. on Feb. 3. The wallet contained $300 in U.S. currency, a check for $171, and an ATM card.
The man said an 18-year-old Marshfield man may have been responsible for the theft. Officers contacted the 18-year-old, and he allowed police to search his residence and vehicle. Police did not find the wallet but did locate marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was cited for the contraband.
Officers advised the victim to notify his bank of the theft in case someone attempted to cash his check or use his ATM card.
Saturday, Feb. 4
Vacuum cleaner theft attempted
A loss prevention officer at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. contacted police at 10:31 a.m. after an unknown man attempted to steal a vacuum cleaner. The loss prevention officer recognized the man from previous thefts and observed him walk past the last point of sale without paying for the vacuum.
The loss prevention officer and an off-duty trooper contacted the man prior to his leaving the store. He threatened the two of them with pepper spray and then quickly left the store in a black, four-door car with out of state license plates with dark blue on top fading into white. The loss prevention officer was able to recover the vacuum cleaner.
Thirty-year-old taken into custody for THC, paraphernalia possession
Police responded at 12:45 p.m. to a report of possible drug activity on the 100 block of W. Arnold St. An officer met with a 30-year-old Marshfield woman at the residence, and she was taken into custody for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia, brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then released.
Sunday, Feb. 5
Stratford man jailed for probation violation
At 2:37 a.m. police took a 26-year-old Stratford man into custody on the 300 block of W. Third St. for a probation violation. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Glass door damaged at Central Avenue building
A Marshfield woman contacted police at 1:11 p.m. after noticing that someone damaged an exterior glass door on her apartment building on the 300 block of S. Central Ave. The woman stated that she contacted some of the tenants of the building, and they said they did not notice the damage when they came into the building the night before. Officers spoke with additional tenants, who stated they noticed that the door was damaged during the early morning hours but did not see who did it.
The damage was consistent with someone kicking the exterior of the door. The woman said a different exterior door was damaged in the past, so officers advised her to install additional exterior lighting around the doors, and police will provide an extra patrol in the area.
Woman arrested for domestic disorderly conduct
Police were requested to check the welfare of an intoxicated female that was sitting outside of her residence on the 600 block of E. 21st St. at 6:29 p.m. During the investigation, a Marshfield man said that the woman was extremely intoxicated and hit him. As a result, police arrested the woman, a 43-year-old from Marshfield, for domestic disorderly conduct.
The woman was not able to post bond and was transported to Wood County Jail.
