Marshfield boys basketball shoots past D.C. Everest

Tigers shoot 72 percent from field in road victory

SCHOFIELD — The Marshfield boys basketball team completed a season-sweep of D.C. Everest, beating the Evergreens 64-51 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at D.C. Everest High School.

Marshfield led 27-23 at halftime before pulling away in the second half to secure the victory.

The Tigers are now 8-8 overall and 5-4 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Everest falls to 6-11 and 1-7 in the WVC.

Seth Anderson scored 18 points, and Ethan Posteluk and Alec Hinson each had 16 for Marshfield as the trio scored all but 12 of the Tigers’ points.

Posteluk and Hinson each made four 3-pointers, and Anderson was 4 of 5 at the free throw line and 7 of 8 from the field for the Tigers.

Marshfield shot an astounding 72 percent from the field, making 24 of 33 shots, and was 10 of 17 from 3-point range.

Marshfield plays at Wausau East on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
