Irene J. Johnson

Irene J. Johnson, age 84, died of natural causes on January 31, 2017 in Marshfield, WI.

Irene is survived by four children.  Grant A. Johnson, of Wausau, WI; James S. Johnson, of Sun Prairie; and his wife Deb; Jacqueline J. Faulkner, of Melbourne, FL and her husband Bill; Claudia E. Watkins of New Hampshire.  Also five grandchildren; Grant B. Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Kimberly Johnson, Andrew Faulkner and Catherine Faulkner.  She is also survived by a sister, Rita Werth of Marshfield and her husband, Harold and a brother, George Minehart of Vesper, WI and his wife Millie.  She was preceded in death by her husband, of 42 years, Grant D. Johnson, also of Marshfield.

Irene was born on April 6, 1932 in Marshfield, to parents Darrell and Elsa Minehart.  She graduated from Madison General Hospital School of Nursing and spent most of her working years employed at the Marshfield Clinic.

Irene was a cancer survivor and a loving mother, who cherished her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed supporting the arts, hosting parties for friends, traveling the country by trailer with her husband and children.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral.  Irene will be buried in the family plot, located in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield.  Donations can be made in her name to either the American Cancer Society or to the First Presbyterian Church of Marshfield.
