Turnovers doom UW-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team in loss to UW-Washington County

Estrict tops Marauders with 29 points

WEST BEND — A relentless defensive effort by University of Wisconsin-Washington County forced the UW-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team to commit 35 turnovers, and the Wildcats rolled to a 111-68 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Due to the turnover differential (35-12), Washington County was able to put up 91 shots compared to the Marauders’ 49. Washington County made 10 of 30 from 3-point range as well.

Joseph Estrict scored 29 points, and Covon Rudolph had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Marauders (5-9).

Washington County led 35-34 at halftime before blowing the game open, scoring 76 points in the second half on 27 of 44 shooting.

UW-Marshfield plays at UW-Baraboo on Monday.
