Hallie J. Peaslee
Hallie J. Peaslee, 85, City Point, died peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Pastor Gary Markworth will officiate.
Hallie was born on October 6, 1931 in Babcock, to Ralph and Evelyn (Ball) Emerson Baker. She married John Peaslee on June 18, 1949 in Pittsville. They moved to City Point in 1955 and had resided there since. Hallie will join John who passed away on January 4, 2015.
Hallie was a member of the East Fork Homemakers Club and the American Legion Post 152 Palmer Ritchie Thomas Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking, watching the birds, playing cards, and going to the casino. She loved spending time with family and friends and was especially happy when with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom each held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Dann) Kann of Rice Lake, John (Mary) Peaslee of Park Falls, Cathy Ekern of Rice Lake, Betsy (Frank) Frost of Pittsville, and Julie (Bob) Fluegel of Granton. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jeffrey (Chris) Peaslee, Jason Peaslee, Cody Ekern, Callie (Chris) Cree, Jessica (Al) Bucheger, Jenny Fluegel, Kim (Ryan) Rakovec, and great grandchildren, Rylie, Jaydon, Landyn, Liam, Hallie, and Ruby. She is further survived by brothers, Ralph Emerson of City Point, and Gary Emerson of Rockford, IL and sisters-in-law, Irene Rasmussen of Pittsville, and Myrtle Peaslee of Arpin.
The family would like to thank Ralph Emerson for his daily visits that she so looked forward to and Jenny Fluegel who moved in with her after Grandpa passed so she would not be lonely. They would also like to thank the staffs of Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital and House of the Dove for the compassionate care to the whole family.
