Columbus Catholic boys basketball tops Springfield in Wisconsin-Minnesota Border Battle
Schultz hits for 30 points for Dons (15-0)

APPLE VALLEY, Minnesota — In a battle of state-ranked boys basketball teams, Marshfield Columbus Catholic raced past Springfield (Minn.) 96-83 in one of seven games at the 11th Annual Wisconsin-Minnesota Border Battle on Saturday morning at Apple Valley High School.
Columbus, ranked No. 3 in this week’s WisSports.net Division 5 state coaches poll, sank 12 3-pointers in the victory, four each from Hunter Schultz and Nick Malovrh.
Schultz finished with 30 points, Tyler Fuerlinger added 27, and Malovrh had 19 for the Dons, who are now 15-0.
Isaac Fink scored 30 points for Springfield, which is now 15-2 and is ranked seventh in Minnesota’s MaxPreps.com Class A state poll.
The Dons return to Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Monday at Granton.
