Stevens Point snaps Marshfield boys basketball team’s win streak at four

Posteluk tops Tigers with 18 points

STEVENS POINT — The Marshfield boys basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 71-60 loss to first-place Stevens Point in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday night at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Marshfield, which had also won three in a row in the WVC, drops to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference. Stevens Point remains unbeaten in the conference at 6-0 and is now 12-1 overall.

Marshfield led by as much as 15 points in the first half before Stevens Point rallied.

Ethan Posteluk made three 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead the Tigers. Seth Anderson added 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting, and Reed Miller had 14 points and six rebounds for Marshfield.

Joey Hauser led SPASH with 29 points in his second game back from an injury that sidelined him for the first half of the season.

The Tigers will host Wisconsin Rapids as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Friday. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., and the boys follow at around 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
