Columbus Catholic boys basketball tops Spencer to move to 14-0

Dons improve to 10-0 in Cloverbelt East

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Columbus Catholic raced out to a 51 points in the first half to bury Spencer early and went on to a 79-50 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons led 51-22 at the break and played even with Spencer the rest of the way to preserve the 29-point win.

Columbus Catholic remains undefeated at 14-0 overall and 10-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Spencer falls to 4-8 and 4-5 in the conference.

Tyler Fuerlinger scored 31 points on 15 of 21 shooting to lead Columbus Catholic. He was 15 of 16 from 2-point range and missed all five of his 3-point attempts.

Nick Malovrh had 17 points and Hunter Schultz added 16, each making three 3-pointers, for the Dons.

Noah Zastrow had 18 points, and Jack Bezlyk added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets.

Columbus plays at Granton, and Spencer will host Owen-Withee in Cloverbelt East action Friday.
