Current program or major: Business – Technology Management

 

Q: Why did you choose UW-Marshfield/Wood County?

Alex Kampmeyer: I was unsure of what I wanted to major in, so I wanted to do my generals first while saving money.

 

Q: What surprised you the most about UW-Marshfield/Wood County when you arrived on campus?

AK: I was surprised to find that I performed better at UW-Marshfield/Wood County than I did in high school.

 

Q: Why did you choose your program/major?

AK: I am interested in business and know that there are opportunities in technology, so I thought the major was perfect.

 

Q: What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

AK: I enjoy learning about project management and the technology needs of businesses.

 

Q: In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time?

AK: I am the president of UW-Marshfield/Wood County’s Student Senate, a student ambassador, and an RA (resident assistant) at the Villas.

 

Q: Who has been your favorite professor or staff member?

AK: Damian Ernest, who is an assistant professor in our communications and theater arts department. His classes that I have been in are very enjoyable. He is personable and seems to really care about his students’ success.

 

Q: What do you plan to do after UW-Marshfield/Wood County?

AK: I plan to attend the Wisconsin School of Business at UW-Madison.

 

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Marshfield/Wood County students?

AK: Keep an open mind, and be prepared to change your major.
