Marshfield’s Zach Schmidt and Colin Barth celebrate Schmidt’s goal during the second period of the Tigers’ win over Regis/Altoona/McDonell on Saturday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.

MARSHFIELD — Zach Schmidt scored 10:40 into the second period, and that proved to be enough as the Marshfield boys hockey team blanked Eau Claire Regis/Altoona/Chippewa Falls McDonell 1-0 in a nonconference game Saturday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.

Schmidt scored off an assist from Colin Barth for the game’s only goal.

Haydon Roy-Peterson earned the shutout in goal for the Tigers, stopping all 29 shots that came his way.

Marshfield improves to 5-9-1 with the win.

The Tigers play at Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday.
