WAUSAU — More than one in four Americans has high blood pressure, and many do not know it. A tendency toward high blood pressure seems to run in families. People whose close relatives have suffered strokes or heart attacks should be especially careful about monitoring their blood pressure.

Ministry Home Care provides free blood pressure checks at locations around the Marshfield area on the third Tuesday of every month, 1-2 p.m.

In even months checks will take place at Parkview Apartments, 606 S. Walnut Ave. In odd months they will be at both Cedar Rail, 601 S. Cedar Ave. in Marshfield, and Donald Sykes Villa, 420 W. Fir St. in Stratford.

No appointments are necessary, and there is no cost. For more information call Ministry Home Care at 800-397-0270.
