NEILLSVILLE — Neillsville made eight 3-pointers, and it proved too much for Spencer to overcome as the Warriors won 52-42 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Thursday at Neillsville High School.

Neillsville led 28-21 at halftime and outscored the Rockets by three in the second half to preserve the win.

Neillsville (6-2, 5-1 Cloverbelt East) was 8 of 25 on 3-pointers while Spencer made just 2 of 15 from long range, providing the difference. The Rockets (2-6, 2-4 Cloverbelt East) were also hurt by free throw shooting, making just 12 of 23 at the charity stripe.

Jack Bezlyk scored 21 points on 8 of 18 shooting to lead Spencer. The rest of the Rockets were 6 of 27 from the field.

Spencer hosts Colby on Tuesday.
