Ila M. Haehnel, 86, Marshfield, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at Bethel Center in Arpin.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2016 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until service time. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery at a later date.

Ila was born March 26, 1930 in the Town of Richfield, Wood County, to Lee and Lucy (Martin) Hartnett and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. After her education, she moved to the Milwaukee area where she met her future husband, Alois Haehnel. They were married May 29, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. He died Aug. 21, 2007.

Ila had been employed at Walker Muffler Company in Racine for 35 years until her retirement. They then moved back to Marshfield to be closer to family. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed visiting the casinos.

Ila is survived by a sister, Ruby Stargardt and a sister-in-law, Marion Hartnett, both of Marshfield.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters, Ina Haley and Grace Guldan and a brother, Glen Hartnett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
