Mary Katherine (Sersch) Weber was born on August 19, 1935 in Spencer to Arnold & Dorothy (Georgas) Sersch.
As a young girl, Mary lived in Spencer and moved with her family to Shawano, WI. When Mary was in the 4th grade her family moved back to Spencer. In Sept. 1951, the Sersch family moved on a farm in the Township of McMillan.
Mary was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer in 1948. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1953.
Mary worked at Parkins Dairy and was able to be a stay at home mom. She worked at Figi’s seasonally for 27 years, retiring in 1998. She made many wonderful friends through her years there where she was head of the Personalization Department and worked in the Checking Department. Mary was a Mara-Wood 4-H Leader, taught Sunday School at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for many, many years, and served as Superintendent. Mary also was a Ladies Aid member at St. Peter’s and faithful member.
Mary Sersch was married to Vincent Edward Weber on August 20, 1955 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Town of McMillan by Reverend Alfred Pautsch.
Vince & Mary lived and farmed in this area all their lives. Mary loved camping with her family, was an amazing cook who enjoyed sharing her “goods” with others, and enjoyed her time volunteering at church.
Mary and Vince had four daughters; Deborah Ann (Dirk) Bauer, Doreen Lynn (Greg) Fandrey, Donna Jean (Brian) Schalow, and Danette Marie (Keith) Jaeger. The Weber girls blessed them with eight grandchildren; Jordan (Liz Mendoza) Bauer, Tyler (Leah) Brandon & Emily Mary Fandrey, Aaron (Nicole) & Ryan Schalow, and Alexandra & Samuel Jaeger. She loved her grandchildren dearly and will miss them a lot. Her son-in-laws became the sons her and Vince never had and she loved them very much.
Mary is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vince, her daughters and their families, and siblings Beverly (William) Welch, Nancy Mathewson and Judy Sersch all of Marshfield, brother in law Greg Pernsteiner, and sister-in-law’s Marylee Sersch and Karen Sersch, and the Weber family sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews and her loving kanine companion, Pepper.
She is predeceased by her parents, Arnold & Dorothy Sersch, brothers and sisters, Anola Pernsteiner, Elmer Sersch, James Sersch, Arnold Sersch, Jr., Alyce Mathews, Tom Sersch and John Sersch, two infant sisters and one granddaughter.
The family would like to extend deep appreciation for the wonderful, compassionate care given to our wife and mother by Dr. Kelli Wehman-Tubbs and the staff at Marshfield Clinic-Colby Center, the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center, Ministry Home Care staff and Krissie Krall of Hospice Care.
Her memories will live on in us forever and she will be missed every day.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorials in Mary’s name to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Sunday School.
